Technology Week Professional Development Series, September 7 to 10, 2009
Social Media 101 Seminar, September 10th 2009.
Conversation is King! The web has created an opportunity to connect with both local and global audiences like never before.
The term “Social Media” is used to describe the many online applications and tools that exist on the web that enable conversations to take place. The web is no longer about providing static information, but about finding opportunity for dialogue. With the prevalence of Social Media today, the convergence of communities has created opportunities for communications and marketing professionals that often remain untapped.
Social Media 101 is a half-day seminar that will provide participants with a high-level understanding of the tools that exist online today, how to get involved and what organizations can do to make sure they are part of the on-going conversation. From “How to Create a Social Media Press Releases (SMPRs)” to “The Basics of Podcasting”, this seminar will offer practical advice and resources that participants can start to use professionally and/or personally right away!
